Shigeto Koyama to be anime guest of honour at London Comic Con
Mecha maestro, character designer and animator Shigeto Koyama is to be MCM London Comic Con's anime guest of honour when the show returns to ExCel later this month.
Best known in the West as the designer of Big Hero 6's lovable robot Baymax, Koyama has worked on a string of acclaimed anime, such as hyperkinetic Studio Trigger series Kill la Kill and Hideaki Anno's Rebuild of Evangelion movies.
Since making his anime debut with 2004's Diebuster, Shigeto Koyama has helped design the aesthetic of a host of top mecha shows - his credits include Hiroyuki Imaishi's iconic Gurren Lagann, Bones show Eureka Seven and its sequels, Takuya Igarashi's Star Driver and Yoshiyuki Tomino's 2014 series Gundam: Reconguista in G.
In addition, Shigeto Koyama has been involved with anime such as Heroman, Space Dandy, Michiko & Hatchin, Panty & Stocking and Ghost in the Shell SAC: Solid State Society, as well as acting as mecha and weapon designer on Suda51 game No More Heroes.
Koyama also recently made his directorial debut, helming Obake-chan - an original short animation about a ghostly girl and her equally spectral cat.
