Kiss Him, Not Me's Junko Launches New Manga in June
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The official website for Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine revealed that manga creator Junko will launch the tentatively titled Oshi ga Watashi de Watashi ga Oshi de manga in the July issue on June 13.
The manga's story centers on an idol otaku and her favorite idol group member. Azusa Asahina fits the bill of a perfect girl with her attractive appearance and good grades. However, she is also a major idol otaku. Azusa's daily life completely changes after she gets wrapped up in a certain incident when she goes to a concert of her favorite idol Chikashi Chida.
The July 2018 issue of the magazine revealed last June that Junko was preparing to launch a new manga. The same issue published a 37-page side story chapter for Junko's Kiss Him, Not Me (Watashi ga Motete Dōsunda) manga.
Junko launched Kiss Him, Not Me in Bessatsu Friend in 2013 and ended it on in February 2018. Kodansha published the manga's 14th and final compiled volume in Japan in March 2018. Crunchyroll released the manga as chapters debuted in Japan, and Kodansha Comics published the manga in print.
The manga inspired a 12-episode television anime that premiered in October 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Funimation streamed an English dub.
