A stage event at the Dengeki Game Festival 2017 event in Tokyo on Sunday debuted the first promotional video for the television anime of Sagu Aoyama's Tenshi no 3P! (Here Comes the Three Angels) light novel series. The video previews the singing of the main leads.
The "loli pop comedy" light novel series follows Kyō Mekui, a high school student who tends to skip school due to a trauma in his past. Kyō secretly creates songs using vocal song synthesis software as his hobby. Three girls who just entered fifth grade — the crybaby Jun "Jun-tan" Gotō, the strong-willed Nozomi "Zomi" Momijidani, and the somewhat sleepy Sora "Kū" Kaneshiro who takes life at her own pace — email Kyō. These three girls, who were raised together like sisters since childhood, want Kyō to help them break into music in this "loli & pop symphony" story.
The anime will star:
- Yūki Inoue as Kyō Mekui
- Yūko Ōno as Jun Gotō (nickname Jun-tan)
- Yurika Endō as Nozomi Momijidani (nickname Zomi)
- Aoi Koga as Sora Kaneshiro (nickname Kū)
- Rina Hidaka as Kurumi Mekui
- Kanae Itō as Sakura Toriumi
- Tōru Ohkawa as Masayoshi Sawatari
Shinsuke Yanagi (Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS, And you thought there is never a girl online?) is directing the anime at anime studio project No.9. Takayuki Noguchi (Ro-Kyu-Bu!, Girls Beyond the Wasteland) is adapting Tinkle's original novel character designs for animation, and Go Zappa (Koihime Musō, NAKAIMO - My Little Sister Is Among Them!) is both writing and overseeing the scripts. Lantis is producing the music.
The anime premieres this July. The television anime is just one of the three projects in the works for the franchise. A drama CD ships on April 10 before the anime's premiere, the three voice actresses behind the anime's girl band are forming a band in real-life.
Aoyama and Tinkle launched the novel series in 2012 and Kadokawa published the ninth volume on March 10. Their Ro-Kyu-Bu! light novel series inspired two television anime series in 2011 and 2013, and also inspired several video games. Yuzu Mizutani launched a manga adaptation of Tenshi no 3P! in May 2014. Omiya's Tenshi no 3P! no 3P!! spinoff manga launched in Dengeki Moeoh in 2013.
