Singaporean film distributor Encore Films announced last Friday that it will screen the live-action Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name films at GV Vivocity in Singapore on October 29. Those who watch the screening will get a limited edition folder.
Encore Films also clarified that it will also screen the L change the WorLd live-action sequel film, but it will announce plans for the screening at a later date.
The films adapt Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's original 2003-2006 supernatural suspense manga, in which a teenager named Light finds a notebook with which he can put people to death by writing their names. He begins a self-anointed crusade against the criminals of the world, and a cat-and-mouse game begins with the authorities and one idiosyncratic genius detective.
The L change the WorLd film opened in Indonesia in February 2008.
Encore Films is also opening Death Note Light up the NEW world, this year's live-action Death Note sequel film, in Singapore on November 10. The sequel film will open on October 29 in Japan.
