4-panel manga by creators of Miku's “Ievan Polkka” video to debut in October
Dark Horse Comics announced at Anime Boston on March 26 that it has licensed Ontama's four-panel manga Hatsune Miku: Mikubon (titled Mikubon in Japan) and will debut the volume on October 5, 2016.
Dark Horse Comics describes the manga:
Hatsune Miku and her friends Rin, Len, and Luka are not only back in manga…they're back to school, enrolling at the St. Diva Academy for Vocaloids! They're going to give it their best at St. Diva, as a wonderland of friendship, determination, and even love unfolds! But can they stay out of trouble, especially when the mad professor of the Hachune Miku Research Lab is nearby…?
The series launched in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Comp Ace in 2012 and Kadokawa released the series in one compiled volume in 2013. The creator "Ontama" is two people: producer Otomania and artist Tamago. The duo previously wrote the Hachune Miku no Nichijō Roipara! four-panel manga, which was serialized in Monthly Comp Ace between February 2008 and October 2011, and also created the original “Ievan Polkka” music video with Miku.
Dark Horse Comics released KEI's Hatsune Miku: Unofficial Hatsune Mix in 2014.
