The cover of this year's fifth issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine has revealed that Naoki Shigeno's Nobunaga no Shinobi four-panel manga is getting a television anime adaptation. The issue will officially ship on Thursday.
The anime will premiere this year, and TMS Entertainment is handling the animation. "Episode 0" of the anime will screen at this year's Anime Japan 2016 event on March 25-27. The fifth issue of Young Animal is also revealing the anime's website address.
The gag manga centers on a young female ninja named Chidori, whose dream is to help the Warring States-era warlord Oda Nobunaga to achieve his goals. The manga's first chapter is available to read for free.
Shigeno launched the manga in Young Animal in 2008, and Hakusensha published the manga's ninth compiled volume on July 29. Shigeno has also drawn the Nobunaga no Shinobi: Owari Touitsu-ki four-panel spinoff manga. Hakusensha will publish the second compiled volume of that series on February 29.
