Nippon Ichi Software began streaming a promotional video for its upcoming PlayStation Vita game Rose to Tasogare no Kojō on Thursday. The video introduces the story and setting of the game.
The game will ship on April 26 in Japan.
Nippon Ichi Software had revealed the game on January 14 after opening a teaser website that had featured the firefly character Hotaru from the htoL#NIQ -Hotaru no Nikki- PlayStation Vita puzzle platform game.
Masayuki Furuya is returning from htoL#NIQ -Hotaru no Nikki- to direct Rose to Tasogare no Kojō, but the game is a completely new work. Furuya also designed the game's characters. Hajime Sugie is also returning from htoL#NIQ -Hotaru no Nikki- to compose the music.
The game's protagonist is Rose (pictured left below), who awakens in the ruins of an "Old Twilight Castle," which has lost both "color" and "time." The player controls Rose as she manipulates time and the color red with the "Power of Thorns" and aims to escape the Old Twilight Castle. Along the way, Rose meets a Titan (pictured right below) with superhuman strength, who helps Rose reach her goal.
The game's standard package edition retails for 4,298 yen (about US$35) including tax, while the download edition retails for 3,086 yen (US$25) including tax. The First Edition Premium Box retails for 6,458 yen (US$53) including tax. The First Edition Premium Box will include a three-sided box with original illustrations by Furuya, an art book, the original soundtrack, and a Rose rubber strap.
NIS America released the htoL#NIQ -Hotaru no Nikki- game in English under the title htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary in the U.S. on February 24 and in Europe on March 4. The game shipped in Japan in June 2014.
