Nobunaga's Ambition Gets 30th Anniversary Set With Gun Replica, New Game

Koei Tecmo Games held a press conference on Tuesday to announce the newest installment in its Nobunaga no Yabō (Nobunaga's Ambition) video game series in celebration of the series' 30th anniversary. The company plans to use the concept of "creativity" to help the player feel closer to Nobunaga, and also to make a game that allows the player to experience the feeling of creating a new world in the midst of the Warring States period. The company plans the release the Nobunaga no Yabō: Sōzō (Nobunaga's Ambition: Creation) game for the PlayStation 3 and PC this year.
In addition, Koei Tecmo Games also announced the tentatively-titled "Nobunaga's Ambition Successive Generation Complete Title Collection" containing all 13 games in the Nobunaga's Ambition series for PC. The set will also include a book to store the 13 PC discs, a 12-disc complete original soundtrack collection, and an art book containing the artwork used for the packaging of all of the games.
Koei Tecmo's Gamecity online store will also be selling the set, and that exclusive set will also come with a Matchlock rifle gun replica with a display stand. Each replica will include a serial number to assure authenticity. The normal collection will cost 31,500 yen (about US$308), while the Gamecity set will cost 52,500 yen (US$514). Both sets are scheduled to ship on September 20.
The first Nobunaga no Yabō game was released for the PC in 1983, and was later ported to various systems. The second title, Nobunaga no Yabō: Zenkokuban was released in 1986 in Japan, and also became the first title to reach North America, with the game's NES and SNES port reaching North American shores in 1989. Nintendo released the NES port of the first game in North America on the Virtual Console in 2009.
