MangaGamer: Valve Rejected The Expression Amrilato Game's Steam Release
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
MangaGamer announced last Friday that Valve has rejected MangaGamer's release of SukeraSparo's The Expression Amrilato (Kotonoha Amrilato) visual novel on Steam. MangaGamer has released the game through its own website and CD Projekt's GOG.com website. MangaGamer stated Valve claimed the game "sexualizes minors," but MangaGamer claimed the game "has no sexual content."
The game has a story that prominently features the constructed auxiliary language Esperanto, and the National Esperanto Association in Japan supervised the game and has recognized the game as educational. MangaGamer has offered the title for free to educational institutions.
Valve previously commented in June last year that it plans to allow everything on the Steam Store except submissions that are illegal or "straight up trolling." MangaGamer stated it has reached out to Valve several times to clarify its policy, but the company "refused to provide" clarification.
SukeraSparo released the game on PC in 2017.
