Tenma and Ochanomizu hardly feel like they are even in the manga. We learn… nothing about them really, and they hardly have any screen time worth mentioning.

Wait for it... no really, their time will come soon enough, individually and as a team.

I haven't read the manga yet, but the description in the review of the chapter on Six's repair reminds me of Ted Chiang's (author of the short story that became the film Arrival) expressed hope that we wouldn't create artificial intelligence because, along the way we'd create prototypes that were capable of consciousness and suffering (a notion he explores some in his story "The lifecycle of software objects").

So, I guess I should get going on the manga, because that chapter sounds like it explores some of the same themes.
