46 episodes is a huge time commitment at this point in my life, but knowing that this one sticks the landing is pushing it into a much more imminent position on my list. I've tried a few other 'Cures since HeartCatch (yes, I'm one of those) and always hit a point where I was left thinking, "Why would you do that?" But I also still miss Precure, because too many other series seem to be afraid of showing that kind of optimism.

Thanks for the review, and fingers (still) crossed for weekly coverage of Delicious Party Precure.

Ugh, I am SO glad this series is over, because honestly, I feel TroPri was a huge slog. It took forever to even so much as get anything done, even flesh out anyone who's not Manatsu or Laura! None of the conflict had much in the way of stakes or tension until the end, and by that point it was too little too late, and what little it did do with the characters feels half-baked. Poor Sango. She deserved better than to be shunted to being little more than living background scenery. I can understand wanting to make a more lighthearted series after the more emotionally charged Healin Good and to cheer kids up during a literal pandemic, but I think TroPri played it too safe and wound up coming across as juvenile and patronizing as a result of Toei's decisions with it. At least now I don't have to hear Manatsu shout "tropica-shine" all the damn time like a broken record now!! Here's hoping Delicious Party turns out better, but if not, I'm gonna rewatch Heartcatch. if you like TroPri, cool, more power to you.

There are a lot of good things I really appreciated in Tropical Rouge Precure that's already mentioned in the review. I'm really glad that "light-hearted" nature of this season actually had good amount of meat in it so it doesn't become insipid. Heck, I'd say Tropical Rouge has probably the strongest epilogue final episode of Precure I've seen to date as it really did cap off girls' character growth (Manatsu bawling was definitely felt) and closed off a few subplots spoiler[(that girl who saw mermaid Laura finally gets validation)].

And I also have to say, in terms of "6th Ranger" Precure members, Laura is definitely in the top tier lists (along with Yuri/Cure Moonlight, if you ask me) as being there in the beginning and getting loads of character growth throughout the show while still being a little high and mighty. Sometimes after a "6th Ranger" Precure gets her powers and a few filler episodes showcasing them, there tends to be the case where the writers have no idea what to do her in future storylines as she gets introduced in the later half of the series and essentially play catch up with the core group's dynamics (recent entries for Healin' Good and Star Twinkle were particularly bad on that front). With Laura introduced from the beginning and her getting her Precure powers much later, the group's dynamics are already established, and they could continue on with that front with new stories.

After the first 5 or 6 iterations of Precure I stopped watching it for various reasons. TC Precure is the first series I watched to its completion in 10 years and I was entertained by it. The series was pretty light on serious scenes and heavy on "humorous" ones but was still pretty well done. All in all I'd give it a 7 out of a possible 10 points.

This is my anime of the year. As I've said many times, this show is so joyful, kind and sincere. It's such a sweet and fun story about friendship and enjoying life.
Also, I ship Manatsu/Laura so much and Sango/Cure Coral is inspiring.
I'm hyped for the next entry, Delicious Party Pretty Cure!

They’re great characters too, of course! And so is Minori.
