This season was definetely great. It delivered on all the great moments of the manga, improved on the animation and sold the inner conflict of the characters very well. World Trigger is excellent and has my favourite battles of any manga currently being published. And you can actually see the care for details the animators had in so many details, like characters doing certain minor actions which become relevant later or the way the bodies react to damage. It's great, really great.
I will eagerly wait for Season 4, whenever that may be.

Does anybody know if we are truly done with Ranking Wars? Are we finally going to see some off-world action? Please?

Yes, this is the conclusion of the Rank Wars. spoiler[There's technically one match left, but it's a bunch of lower-ranked squads duking it out for placement and lasts all of 1 chapter or so.]

As for any off-world action, or really anything after this, it's going to be a looooong while before there's any chance for the anime to continue. As of right now there's only about 20 chapters of the manga that haven't been adapted, and since the series only releases 1 to 2 chapters a month at most, it'll take a while before there's enough material for even a single cour, let alone for the next arc to wrap up.

@ lossthief - thank you for the info! It's kinda the classic, "good news, bad news" thing.

So glad to see a review for this past season. I feel like this show doesnt get enough credit it should get cause its so good!

Loved this season and laughed cause the review was a little down on the involvement of Yuba squad, but I loved them!

Yuba instantly stole the season for me! His charisma, and passion as a mentor made him a favorite. Also the scene when he ran up against Ninomiya was one of the best scenes world trigger ever did.

So said that this show is always walking on egg shells to see if it will actually return or not. But when/if it does im going to be so excited

The last two episodes of this season had some really jawdropping scenes I could place right beside my favorite battle shonen moments. The art and animation of this show is getting better and better with each season, but it's never been this good. Not to mention its other strengths in building tension and all the thought that went into the battle strategies we see on-screen, I'm really glad I stuck with World Trigger despite its shaky first cour way back in 2014.

Did this season really end at episode 14? I assumed because ep 14 was delayed other episodes were delayed as well, similar to 86 s2... Why such weird number of episodes, usually its 12 to 13 or 24 to 26?

So seasons 2 and 3 were both meant to be 13 episodes each. But weather delays caused season 2 to miss a week, and their wasn't any room in their time slot, so they had to essentially move the season 2 finale to be the season 3 premiere, making it 14 episodes total.

i dont know if the reviewer seriously need to considered that 1 additional team as a problem. they are properly introduced and also function as a world building, with their relationship with other teams or characters. i mean, since the beginning, the introduced teams dont really show in order, so there is plenty spot to fill in, it just the matter of when.

i know, world trigger already introduced many characters, but to be fair, anyone that they introduced so far is quite unique and so far no one has been one-off character. they all somehow have contribute to the story, even if its such a mundane thing. and i believe that is no different for yuba squad, even if its not yet happened.

so, why not just use the already-established ikoma squad?
i dont know, there is this one free spot in the rank wars current round, that the order and teams name already written since season 2, and there is also this away mission that top b-rank members will probably also take part of, i wonder if yuba is top b-rank member too. hmmm...

why not just use that one episode to get to know them more, while their names are already established before, and their captain potentially will take part of in the next story arc. i just assume, i am not read the manga yet for this. but, the whole fight scene with them is too good. its pretty obvious, at this point.

so yeah, i dont think that episode 13, or to be specific, yuba squad job there was intended to be unnecessary padding, rather that it is for themselves, another character developments for them, and i can see it being necessary in the future.

the story is nowhere near to end, just trust the author for what he did.

i'll end this here.
i am not english speaker, so my english is probably bad, and at the same time i am not capable to correct myself. so, sorry for my english.
and thanks for reviewing world trigger for us, and helping to spread good word about it. Smile
